University of International Business and Economics

China’s university of international trade — in the heart of Beijing’s business district

Founded in 1951 and directly affiliated with the Ministry of Education, the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) was created to train China’s foreign trade professionals and remains the country’s most specialised university for international business. A 211 Project and Double First Class institution, UIBE ranks 3rd among China’s finance and economics universities on the 2026 ShanghaiRanking, with its Applied Economics discipline designated Double First Class. Its single compact campus on Huixin East Street in Chaoyang District sits minutes from Beijing’s Central Business District, the headquarters of multinational firms and the Ministry of Commerce. UIBE runs parallel Chinese and English instructional systems from bachelor’s through doctoral level and hosts more than 3,000 international students from roughly 160 countries — one of the highest proportions of any Chinese university — making it the natural choice for students targeting careers in trade, finance, business law and global management.
