Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) took its present form in June 1999 through the merger of the Beijing Institute of Light Industry, Beijing Business College and the Beijing Institute of Mechanical Management, with roots reaching back to 1950. Administered by the Beijing Municipal Government as a municipal key university, BTBU is unusual in China for pairing light-industry engineering with commerce: food science and engineering, food nutrition and safety, flavours, fragrances and cosmetics technology, environmental engineering, accounting, business administration and applied economics all sit within one institution. Teaching is concentrated on the Liangxiang campus in Fangshan District, with the Fucheng Road campus in Haidian used for graduate and executive programs. - Academic RequirementsHigh school diploma with solid results in mathematics, chemistry or economics for bachelor’s programs; a relevant bachelor’s degree for master’s programs.
- Language RequirementsChinese-taught programs require HSK Level 4 or above (HSK 5 for business majors). English-taught graduate programs require IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80 or prior education in English.
